David De Gea may leave Manchester United during the summer, as the club continue negotiations over a new contract, The UK Sun reports.

The Spain keeper wants £350,000 per week, with French giants Paris Saint-Germain happy to meet his demands.

Man United activated the one-year extension in his contract earlier this season, but want to tie the 28-year-old down to a longer deal.

De Gea is thought to be open to stay, after an upturn in fortunes under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was appointed permanently last week.

However, PSG are willing to offer £60million for the stopper to test Man United’s resolve.

The Parisians are also interested in Ander Herrera, whose contract expires in the summer and has yet to agree new terms.

Lukaku will miss Man Utd’s Inter friendly – Solskjaer

Romelu Lukaku: Man Utd striker to miss Inter Milan clash

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed striker Romelu Lukaku will not play against Inter Milan in Singapore on Saturday.

Inter are keen on the Belgian but are yet to meet United’s valuation of the player, who cost them £75m to sign from Everton two years ago.

Lukaku missed both United’s tour matches in Australia due to injury and Solskjaer says he will remain absent.
“He’s not fit. He won’t be available,” said the United boss.

The 26-year-old did not play an active part in training on Friday, instead undergoing some individual fitness work before making his way to the bench, where he sat next to a United staff member for over half an hour.

And when pressed on Lukaku’s future at the club, Solskjaer said he had “no more updates”.

‘Glimpses of the new Martial’

In his press conference, Solksjaer also praised forward Anthony Martial’s work rate and said his attitude in pre-season training had been “absolutely spot on”.

The 23-year-old Frenchman scored 10 goals in 27 Premier League appearances last season, including two against Chelsea in October.

But Solksjaer said there have been “glimpses of the new Anthony” and expects a better 2019-20 season.

“Anthony can be a world-class forward,” said Solksjaer. “There’s a couple of glimpses of the new Anthony in the way he works for the team. He has got the talent and his work rate is improving.

“I expect him and Marcus [Rashford] to be even better than last season. Anthony had a top season when he came, [and was] top scorer, then he has had a couple of seasons where he’s not hit the same amount of goals and quality, so I think it will be a better Anthony this year.”

Improving on last season

Midfielder Nemanja Matic, who joined Solksjaer in the press conference in Singapore, was critical of United’s performance in the Premier League last season.

The Serbian said the team had failed to achieve their target of securing a Champions League spot and Matic admitted he was “not happy” at the end of the campaign.

“It was not a good season for all of us,” said Matic. “This season we have to do better, do more, because playing for Manchester United, you have to fight for trophies.

“We know that very well so we expect this season to be better. I’m sure we’ll be ready for the challenge. Last season I had some problems with injuries but I was not happy with my form.

“We finished the season and I was not happy but this season I start with the team and we will see. At the moment, I feel great and will continue to train hard to help the team.”

Solskjaer said he expected this season to be “closer” and he doesn’t think Manchester City and Liverpool will finish on 98 and 97 points again.

“The Premier League is a very competitive league and those teams last season were exceptional to get 97 and 98 points,” said
Solskjaer.
“Six teams want Champions League places and want to win the league but we have to focus on ourselves, be better, improve, make sure United is our only focus and get closer to the top.”

The Norwegian also spoke about the important of starting the season well and said the coaching staff have “worked the players hard” in Perth and Singapore.

“I don’t think many players have had a pre-season like this before. For Nemanja [Matic] it’s a first pre-season in a little while. In the first eight to 10 games you can lose the chance to win so the first two months are vital.”

(Sports) Neymar: Why Barca?

Spanish newspaper Sport have revealed as many as five reasons for why Neymar wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain to return to FC Barcelona this summer.
Reports have stated that the Catalans are keen on signing their former Brazilian superstar this summer, with the reliable Gerard Romero previously claiming that Barca are willing to swap Ousmane Dembele to bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp.
Sport say that one big reason for why Neymar wants to return is that he has realised his mistake. He finished 12th in the Ballon D’or standings and feels that at PSG, he is very far from winning the Champions League. That is poles apart from how things were at Barca- where he came up with brilliant performances every week.
The second reason is that he feels that instead of coming out of Lionel Messi’s shadow to improve, it is better for him to learn from by playing with him to improve. From Messi, he wants to learn how to organize his life away from the pitch and improve on the pitch.
Neymar feels that joining Barcelona will help him regain his lost global value. Over the last two years- especially after the World Cup, Neymar’s global value has fallen. Barcelona can help him regain that spot.
The fourth reasons pertains to the fact that Neymar wants to be happy again. Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s comments have told him that he would rather line up with friends than at a place where he isn’t happy.
The fifth reason is also a crucial one. It states that Neymar knows what happened with Ronaldinho and how his career came apart at the same age at Neymar currently is. The forward is keen to make sure that he doesn’t follow the same path as Ronaldinho and feels that a place like Barcelona will help him do that.

Jose Mourinho Lists 7 Clubs That Can Win Champions League Next Season

Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has reckoned that Liverpool can reach the Champions League final again next season.

Liverpool won the Champions League for a sixth time in their history, with a 2-0 victory over Premier League rivals Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night.

It was Mohamed Salah’s spot kick and Divock Origi’s last minute strike that gave the Reds their victory.

After watching Real Madrid hand over their crown after three successive titles, Mourinho predicted a third final in a row for Liverpool.

The former Chelsea boss who won the competition with Porto and Inter Milan, said on beIN Sports, “With Real Madrid it’s three in a row. Why can’t Liverpool do three finals in a row?

“Why Liverpool, with this good team, with this good spirit, with this good empathy. The club, the manager, the players, the fans. Why not a third?”

Mourinho also named seven other clubs that are capable of claiming the title.

“I was writing here the teams that want to win the Champions League. Juventus, Bayern, PSG, Manchester United, City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid,” Mourinho added.

“You have seven or eight teams.

“Lots of teams want to do it, but only one can do it.”

However, Mourinho thinks Chelsea’s transfer ban will harm their chances of doing well in the Champions League.

“It is difficult for Chelsea because they don’t have the possibility to be in the transfer market,” Mourinho said of the Europa League champions.
